is one of Troy Corporation's newest designers of fabric for our
Riverwoods Collection.
Kathy is a sought after teacher in the quilting industry. She has written over
125 patterns and seven books to date. She is a featured contributor in quilting
books and numerous magazines including The Quilter, Create and Decorate, and
Quick and Easy Quilting.
Kathy is an artist at heart and chosen fabric as her medium to express herself.
Her whimsical patterns and now fabric are designed with the direct purpose of putting
a smile on the face of the quilter. She wants to "hook" novice quilters into the
world of quilting. What better way to do that than with something fun!
Kathy's designs bring to the forefront colors that have been missing from the
quilter's palette, such as asparagus, butter, cameo, and wisteria.
Kathy was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has been married to her
best friend, Michael, for almost 27 years. They have one daughter, Erin, two dogs,
and four cats. Erin is a forensic anthropology major at LSU, but remains an integral
part of Kathy's life. It is doubtful that Erin will be able to incorporate quilting
into her major, but she will definitely be the beneficiary of many works of art
made from her mother's fabrics.
