It is only fitting that Johanna Wilson's new fabric line is called Legacy. Anyone who knows, or even knows of Johanna, is aware of how important the history is to her. Johanna of Plum Creek Patchwork fame became entranced with quilting for many reasons, one of which is a tie to days long ago. When asked to describe her new group, she simply said that she was taking the past, combining it with the present, and looking toward the future.
Legacy embodies the quilts of yesteryear both in color and design. Her paisley prints, stars, and coordinated fabrics combine to bring together all the elements necessary to to create quilts that will warm your heart.
Johanna understands how important it is to create memories and that is what was behind her desire to develop this glorious new line. As a teacher and pattern designer, Johanna needed the designs and colors that would bring out her patterns to the . Unable to find what she needed already out there, she went ahead and designed it herself!!! Never let it be said that Johanna is not a resourceful person.
Johanna and her husband, Orman, live in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. The air is rich with history there, for their farm is very near the 1870 site of Laura Ingall's dugout home. This has helped to give Johanna the spirit of how important it is for the future of us all all to know what went before us. We know that you will be as inspired by the colors and the beauty of her Legacy as we are. |
